You know it when you hear it. It’s that first time you hear a new artist and you just know it’s something special. The voice is fresh, yet familiar. It’s rich with emotion and texture that makes each lyric resonate. It’s a voice that sings the song “to” you, not just “at” you.
That voice belongs to Noah Guthrie.
Noah writes songs about real life. Songs about the joys and sorrows of love, loss and everything in between.
The South Carolina based, singer/songwriter built a name for himself when, at the age of 15, he began recording covers of popular songs on YouTube. He began touring at 16, performing over 200 shows by the age of 18. All the while, Noah continued writing his own music. In 2013, Noah released his first original album, Among The Wildest Things. The album features songs co-written with Nashville friends, Gabe Dixon, Amy Stroup, Ben Rector and Matt Wertz.
As Noah continued touring, he was spotted by casting directors for the television show, Glee. Blown away by Noah’s passionate vocals, they cast Noah as the character, Roderick Meeks, on the final season of the show, where he increased his following even more with his powerful vocal performances.
While spending 8 months in Los Angeles filming Glee, Noah continued to write new music. As soon as he returned home to South Carolina, Noah began recording with his brother, drummer and recording engineer, Ian Guthrie. Enlisting the talents of friends, Rhett Shull and Philip Conrad. The result is Noah’s second album, The Valley.
The album features a couple of tracks co-written with Amy Stroup, and Matthew Perryman Jones with the majority of tracks written by Noah. The Valley highlights the range of Noah’s vocal abilities with tender love songs as well as soaring ballads.
Noah’s new single, Hell Or High Water, is a rousing Alt-Country ballad about growing up, coming of age and never giving up. It will be available worldwide on November 1.
With Ian, Rhett and Phil forming Noah’s band, Good Trouble, Noah continues to tour and build his following with powerful and touching stage performances all over the world. Noah, and his band, were recently featured performers on Rock Boat XVIII, the biggest music festival at sea, along with Sister Hazel, Barenaked Ladies, needtobreathe, Drew Holcomb and others. Noah has toured Europe 5 times and recently performed in the Middle Eastern nation of Oman.
