Alan Turner’s star began its ascent a little more than a year-and-a-half ago when he signed a contract with HMG-Nashville. Since then, he’s had four songs chart #20 or higher on Power Source Magazine’s Country and Inspirational Country charts, including a #2 hit, “Preacher Man and Me”, that spent January and February 2016 at that lofty perch and a #6 hit, “American Pride”, this past summer. Also, “Preacher Man and Me” got added to 60,000 Touchtune jukeboxes around the country.
Along with the radio play, Turner has received recognition from the Inspirational Country Music Association, which nominated him for the 2015 New Artist of the Year and Video of the Year awards, as well as the 2016 Video of the Year award. Turner and his Steel Horse Band were also invited to perform at this past April’s Suwannee River Jam, where he played after Chase Rice and before Lynyrd Skynyrd and Big Smo.
The band is hoping to ride this wave straight into 2017 with a new single, “Windows and Mirrors”, co-written by Cole Swindell, which is currently being played on the Music Row radio stations around the country, and a new contract with the Ralph Stanley Group in Nashville.
